Venugopal to be acting VC of Bangalore University

BANGALORE: The Bangalore University has to appoint a new acting Vice-Chancellor (VC) in the next few days. Dr HT Rathod, acting VC, dean from the department of Mathematics, will be completing his term on November 29.

The next senior dean is Dr KR Venugopal, dean of engineering, who will serve as an acting VC till the appointment of a regular VC.

Surprisingly, Venugopal is yet to receive any information from the government or the Chancellor in this regard.

Meanwhile, some of the syndicate members and university officials are trying to bypass Venugopal as he is the youngest dean and will continue for the next seven months, according to a source.

The post of the VC has been vacant for the past five months.
