NEW DELHI, The Narcotics Control Bureau has claimed to have busted an international drug syndicate dealing with popular party drugs with the arrest of three foreign nationals, including a Canada-based kingpin and the seizure of drugs worth over Rs 30 crore.

Acting on a tip off, the Mumbai Zonal Office of the NCB along with its Ahmedabad counterparts had intercepted a Toyota Qualis near Bharuch in Gujarat on the Vadodara-Mumbai highway on November 21 and seized 1.5 kg of highly pure synthetic drug 'Methamphetamine', a base of rave drug "Ice", a senior NCB
official said.

Xie Jing Feng alias Richard, a Canadian of Chinese origin, was arrested under the NDPS Act along with two Malaysian nationals - Ravindran Karapaya and Gunasekaran
Pakiam Pillay for carrying the contraband.

Based on their interrogation, NCB officials raided a factory in Sawli village, 30 km from Vadodara (Gujarat), where the drug was being manufactured in a fully functional
laboratory.

"We recovered another 30 kg of the drug from the site taking the total seized amount to 31.5 kg," the official said, adding that price of the drug is over Rs one crore per kg in
the international market.

According to sources in the NCB, earlier this month, a Taiwanese national was arrested from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport and two kg of the dreaded drug seized
from him. Officials claim that this the first seizure of the particular contraband in the country.

"The person was booked for Taipei and we suspected that he was part of a larger network operating in or around Mumbai and hence the information was also passed on to our counterparts there," a senior NCB official in Delhi said.
