HARDA (MP): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Thursday charged the ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh for making 'false promises' and not fulfiling it.
       
Addressing his first election meeting in the state for the November 27 assembly elections at the Sokal ground here, the Congress leader said that the BJP government in the state has failed on all fronts.
       
The Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led government have not done anything in the power sector, not constructing roads or for the welfare of the womenfolk.
       
Rahul pointed out that according to a report, Madhya Pradesh topped amongst all the States in the country on atrocities on women.
       
The BJP ran out of promises which it had not fulfilled during its five-year tenure, it has made further promises in a bid to woo voters, he said.
       
The BJP also talked of terrorism in the country and the manner in which it was being handled by the UPA government at the Centre, he said.
       
Rahul reminded the BJP, that it was during the NDA regime a hijacked plane was allowed to go to Kandhar in Afghanistan and later the dreaded extremists were also freed by the BJP-led government.
       
The Congress-led UPA government's biggest achievement is the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, which provides job opportunities to rural people from the country, he added.
