Advani's portal launched on his birthday

NEW DELHI: A website of Bharatiya Janata Party's prime minister hopeful L.K. Advani was launched here on Saturday afternoon by former governor of Jammu and Kashmir S.K. Sinha on the occasion of Advani's 81st birthday.

Called lkadvani.in, the website has 700 pages and 350 images and is interactive. "This is the biggest portal of any political leader in India," Sudheendra Kulkarni, Advani's close colleague, who has put together the site, said.

Speaking on the occasion, Advani said internet is the third big invention of our times.

“First major radical invention for humanity was of the wheel, second electricity and third is the internet. This technology has opened up new avenues to interact with people,” Advani said.

Sharad Yadav, president of Janatal Dal - United, was also present on the occasion.

Barring this function, Advani spent his birthday with his family, as usual.
