Man accused of abduction and rape of minor arrested

    
CHANDIGARH: A person, arrested for abduction and rape of a minor girl, was remanded to 14 days' judicial custody here on Tuesday.
    
Haryana police have arrested one person namely Monu alias Sushil from Jalandhar yesterday for allegedly abducting and raping a minor girl.
    
The abducted minor has also been recovered and the accused sent on judicial remand of 14 days, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.
   
He said that the girl has given a statement that she was misled with a promise of marriage and later raped by the accused.
   
The rape has been proved in the medical examination of the girl, he added.
   
He said that a resident of village Ravanhera in district Kaithal had lodged a report at police station in Pundri on November one that when he woke up in the morning, he found his 15-year-old daughter missing from home.
   
The father of the girl said that Monu who had been staying with his aunt in his neighbourhood for the last three months, but was missing from the same night.
    
Monu was arrested from Subzimandi in Jalandhar where he was employed with a contractor.
