NEW DELHI: Three youths were arrested from South Delhi’s Munirka area for allegedly forging identity cards of several government departments, police said on Tuesday.

The suspects were arrest last Sunday following a tip-off by an alert cyber cafe owner, who noticed the trio preparing fake ID cards using Photoshop software.

While Zeya-ur-Rehman (23) and Mohammad Qumar Ul Zama (21) belong to Tughlakabad Extension, Anis-ur-Rehman (23) is a resident of Munirka village, they said.

Several photo copies of forged identity cards of MHA, NBCC and IBM officials, PAN cards, driving licences and 74 envelopes of activated mobile SIM cards were recovered from them, police said.

The three were sales executives with a leading mobile operator in the city. Police said they were involved in forging fake identities to procure maximum number of phone connections for their employer. Police estimates in the last one month they had obtained some 100 connections using forged documents.
