Armyman found dead, wife unconscious in house

DEHRA DUN: An army man allegedly committed suicide following a tiff with his wife here, police said here on Sunday.
    
The body of Rifleman Mahavir Singh, who was deployed at the Circuit House here and belonged to Chamoli district, was found hanging from a ceiling fan while his wife Deepa who was lying unconscious inside the same room was hospitalized last evening.
    
The condition of Deepa is stated to be serious, police said adding preliminary investigations showed Singh apparently committed suicide following an altercation with his wife.
    
The body of Singh has been sent for postmortem. Police said it would take a statement of Deepa as soon as she regains conciousness.
