CHANDIGARH: Two more youths accused of the abduction, molestation and attempt to rape a 20-year-old German tourist surrendered in a court on Wednesday afternoon, a police official said.

"Sukhdeep Singh alias Sukhi and Manveer Jolly have surrendered in the afternoon. Both of them are in their 20s and residents of a village near Ambala town," said a Chandigarh police official on Wednesday.

The court has sent them to two days' police remand along with Harpreet Singh who was arrested on Tuesday. Pankaj, who was arrested on Monday, is in police remand. Ambala in Haryana is about 45 km from here.

The German woman was allegedly abducted from the upscale Taj Hotel around 2.30 a.m. on Sunday. She alleged that she was held captive for 12 hours and the youth attempted to rape her, assaulted and molested her and threatened to kill her.

Now only one accused, Sompal, is absconding and the police carried out raids at various places, said the official.

The woman, who was in the city to attend the wedding of a Germany-based NRI, complained that she was taken to a room by a youth who tried to rape her, beat her and threatened her.

At around 3 p.m. Sunday, a white Maruti car dropped her in Sector 20, four km from the hotel.
