In this rally, approximately 5000 candidates reported and 3085 Tokens were issued to all categories, an army release stated
here on Wednesday adding that Physical Fitness Tests (PFT) and Physical Measurement Tests (PMT) have almost completed on Wednesday hereas Medical Tests for successful candidates will continue up to October five and written Examination of successful candidates would be held at this Rally site itself on October 26.
"Basically, this Recruitment Rally is meant for four district of Punjab for Soldier General Duty Category namely Jalandhar,Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur and Nawanshar" release said adding that this Recruitment Rally was also opened for all districts of Punjab for Soldier Technical and Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Clerk Catagories for all castes candidates hailing from Punjab.
Since the response for Soldier Technical Category of Sikh Mazhbi, Sikh Ramdasia and Sikh Scheduled caste was poor, it has
been decided that all Army Recruitment Rallies in Punjab anywhere in future for Soldier Technical Category would also be opened for these three caste from all districts of Punjab, it stated.
Candidates who have passed 12th (10+2) with physics, Chemistry and Mathmatics subjects and were between seventeen and half years to twenty three years of age as on the date of Screening would be eligible.
There has been an overwhelming response from Hoshiarpur district of Punjab.
Response from other three districts including Kapurthala, Nawanshar and Jalandhar has also improved as compared to previous Rallies in all castes and categories particularly in Clks Category and next rally would be organised in Ferozepur from October 16 to October 23, release added.
