JAIPUR: Rajasthan Police claimed on Monday the five militants arrested in connection with the Delhi blasts were also behind the serial explosions in Jaipur.

The special operation group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police investigating the May 13 blasts said the attack was jointly carried out by Simi and Indian Mujahedin.

SOG DIG A Ponnuchamy told reporters here Zia-ur-Rehman, Saquib Nisar, Mohd Shakeel, Zeeshan and Mohd Saif, who were arrested by Delhi Police after the recent blasts in the national capital, carried out the serial blasts along with others.

He said the accused boarded a Rajasthan Roadways bus from Bikaner House in Delhi at 8 am on May 11 and reached Jaipur at 1 pm.

Thereafter, they constituted three teams — two of three members each — and another of four members comprising.

Ponnuchamy said three days before the Jaipur blasts the accused assembled in Ahmedabad and came to Jaipur on May 9.

They soon identified the places where bombs had to be planted and shops from where cycles had to be purchased. The DIG said after making all preparations for the blasts, Atif the mastermind left for Delhi on the night of May 10 by bus, while the rest stayed back.
