Ramadoss visits RML to meet blast victims

NEW DELHI: Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss on Tuesday visited the Ram Manohar Lohia hospital here to meet the victims of serial blasts in the capital and said he was satisfied with the services offered by the medical centre.
     
"We are satisfied with what the RML is doing. The newly built trauma centre has played a major role. All doctors have rushed to the hospital on a short notice and worked throughout the night," Ramadoss said after visiting several wards where
many injured blasts victims are being treated.
     
Asked about shortage of anti-gas gangrene serum in different city hospitals, he said it is no more used in such treatments.
     
"I have talked to senior doctors who said that a new one has come up replacing the serum," he said adding "Why are you making fuss of it? Do not confuse people. It was used 10 years ago".
     
One of the injured - Ashraf - hailing from Jammu and Kashmir who lost his uncle at the Karol Bagh blast, requested the Minister for financial help to which Ramadoss responded positively.
     
Ramadoss was accompanied by Minister of State for Health Panabakka Lakshmi and other health officials.
     
Ramadoss said a total of 127 injured persons have been admitted to various government and private hospitals in the capital. Among them, 17 were brought dead.
