Yamunanagar power plant to resume supplies

CHANDIGARH: The 300 megawatt power plant at Yamunanagar will resume functioning by tomorrow, an official spokesperson said on Saturday.
    
There was a minor technical problem in one of the generating units at the power plant in Yamunanagar which has now been rectified, he said.
    
In addition, one unit of gas-based plant at Faridabad which was out of order is likely to resume generating electricity in the next four to five days, said the spokesperson for Haryana Power Utilities.
     
The state needs about 1,000 lakh units of electricity daily against the present availability of over 875 lakh units. There is a considerable demand for power from the agriculture sector during the ongoing paddy season.
