Hong Kong teacher jailed for sex with minor pupil

HONG KONG: A 53-year-old schoolteacher in Hong Kong was jailed on Friday for six years for having sex with a 10-year-old female pupil.
 
Chew Hing-cheung took the girl to "love hotels," where rooms are rented out by the hour, and had sex with her, Hong Kong's High Court was told.
 
He was arrested in January on his third visit to a love hotel with the girl when police carried out a routine operation at the premises and caught them together.
 
Chew, who is married and has a 7-year-old son, admitted having sex with a minor at an earlier hearing in August.
 
The judge called Chew a paedophile and ordered him to undergo treatment for his condition while he served out his prison term.
 
Before being sentenced, Chew, who has taught in Hong Kong's Tseun Wan district for 10 years, said he was ashamed of his actions and admitted they compromised his integrity as a teacher.
