A terrorist arrested, lethal weapons recovered

JALANDHAR: The district police on Friday claimed to have arrested a dreaded terrorist with recovery of lethal weapons from his possession.
  
Arrested terrorist was identified Harjant Singh alias DC resident of Vijliwal village of Batala and was arrested from Jalandhar Cantonment Railway station, Pawan Kumar Rai, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said adding that lethal weapons including a Pistol, two Magazine and seven live round of bullets were recovered from his possession.
  
The accused was produced before the court today and his interrogation was on-going to know further detail of his activities in the state.
   
Information regarding his plan and involvement in the terrorist would be known only after his detailed interrogation,
SSP said.
    
Meanwhile sources said that the accused was arrested by the police day before yesterday and he was kept under custody for two days in  CIA Police station.
    
When contacted, Sanjeev Kalra, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jalandhar-range confirmed the arrest but refused to divulge detail of  the arrest.
    
"As of now I can say that a serious attempt to revive terrorism in the state has been thwarted through the arrest' IGP said adding that more details about the activities of the arrested terrorists would be revealed only after the Joint Interrogation of the accused.
