NEW DELHI: Inspired by bikers gang leader Bunty and Bollywood movies, a teenage boy allegedly plotted his own kidnapping along with two of his friends to "extort" Rs one lakh from his father.

However, the 16-year-old boy and his two close friends, who allegedly wanted to form their own gang and tried to get a snatcher presently in jail for assistance, landed in police net.

The teenagers were caught for allegedly stage managing the kidnapping of one of them and produced before a Juvenile Court, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) H G S Dhaliwal on Monday said.

The three disclosed that they were influenced by the wide media coverage on Bunty's activities and wanted to create their own gang, Dhaliwal said, adding the boys also decided to get Makdi, a snatcher of Madangir area released from judicial custody on bail, to assist them in creating a gang.

The teenage boy even called his father demanding ransom by changing his voice, he said adding the boys even planned to spend Rs 60,000 out of the Rs one lakh for getting Makdi released and equally divide rest of the amount amongst themselves.

The drama of kidnapping unfolded on August 29 when the father of one of the boys received a phone call demanding Rs one lakh for the safe release of his son and informed police about it.

The father told police that his son had left his house to escort two minors, who were taking tuitions from his daughter, to their homes in the neighbourhood and did not return home thereafter.

The family received another ransom call on August 30 which was made from a public telephone booth in Sangam Vihar and the booth owner told police that a minor made the phone call, Dhaliwal said.

During investigations, he said, it was learnt that one of the minors, who was a class mate of the "victim" was also missing from his house and the description of the August 30 caller matched him.

The father, meanwhile, continued to receive ransom calls from various locations on the same day.

The caller again made a call asking the father to come alone to Tigri locality with the ransom amount.

One of the constables accompanied the father of the victim as a TSR driver while other members of the team in plain clothes followed him from a distance in another TSR being driven by another constable.

The caller kept changing the location for delivery of the ransom money and directed the father of the victim to come first at Pushpa Bhawan, then at  J- Block bus stand Saket then at PVR Saket.

When the father reached at PVR Saket, the caller kept him waiting for an hour and said that because he is accompanied by some people, he should come alone at J-Block of Khoka Market in Saket.

After waiting for half-an-hour a group of minors accompanied by the victim approached the father for receiving the ransom money.

In the mean time the members of the team waiting in another TSR were alerted through pre-decided signal and all the minors were over-powered.
