Girl murdered, buried by brother in Delhi

NEW DELHI: An 11-year-old girl was allegedly murdered by her brother and buried in a graveyard in northwest Delhi, the police said on Thursday. 

The victim was a resident of Bawana area. Her brother is also a minor.

The police suspect the brother raped and murdered his sister.

According to police sources, ”On being tipped off, police exhumed the body from the graveyard in Bawana area. It was then sent for post-mortem examination and to ascertain the cause of death.”

“The girl and her brother were missing from their residence. An eyewitness told the police that he saw the brother digging a grave at the graveyard," the sources added.

“The police are questioning the locals. Initial investigations point towards the brother. However, whether she was sexually assaulted or not would be confirmed after medical examination,” the sources said.
