'Mayawati 'insensitive' to SCs, STs'

LUCKNOW: The Congress on Monday accused Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati of being "insensitive" towards SCs and STs and said she was not interested in the actual uplift of the downtrodden.
    
"Mayawati is not really interested in the uplift of the dalits and therefore she has not earnestly implemented schemes meant for their welfare", UPCC President Rita Bahuguna Joshi told reporters here.
    
Referring to Union Minister for Social Justices Miera Kumar's letters to the Chief Minister over cases of atrocities against Dalits, the Congress leader said "Kumar wrote dozens of letters on these issues, but they had been ignored."
