Luck favoured three persons twice in blasts

AHMEDABAD: It is said that everybody is master of one’s own destiny. Yogesh Agrawal, 28, of Hatkeshwar survived three bomb blasts in a couple of hours on Saturday evening. Two others of Bapunagar were also lucky.

Saturday was just another day for Yogesh when he started his work in the morning. Yogesh deals in cycle parts. In the afternoon, he along with his younger brother Suresh and friend Pavan went to Panchkuva cycle market to buy cycle parts.

"We were on our way to Hatkeshwar in my Tempo, when we heard the explosion and saw substances flying in the air. We were lucky and had just crossed Bhau ni Pol of Raipur where the explosion occurred," said Yogesh.

He said later his friend Pavan received a call informing that his father was seriously injured in a bomb blast. He along with Pavan rushed to LG hospital to look for his father's whereabouts. "At a time we were coming out of the hospital, there was a huge explosion in the parking area. We saw flames all around. It was second lucky escape for us," he said.

Two diamond traders of the city were also lucky as they escaped safe from bomb blasts at Bapunagar diamond market and civil hospital.

Ashwin Patel, a resident of Ghatlodia, said, "After returning from diamond market, I along with two of my friends was sitting in the parking when an explosion. The bomb was perhaps planted in a bicycle.  I and my friend Jyotish were inured in the explosion." 
"We rushed to Dhanvantri hospital for treatment but as there was no facility, we were taken to the civil hospital in an ambulance. When we were about to get off the ambulance, a heavy blast took place there and we sustained more injuries," he said.

However, we are lucky to escape death," said Jyotish Dave, Ashwin's friend.
