CHANDIGARH: A captain in the Indian Army Tuesday alleged she was being sexually harassed by three senior officers and was being illegally confined in her unit in Kalka town in Haryana, 30 km from here.

Captain Poonam Kaur, who is serving in an army supply and transport unit located at Kalka, made the allegations against her commanding officer Col. RK Sharma, Lt. Col Ajay Chawla and Major Suraj Bhan.

Kaur said on the phone that she was being physically and mentally harassed by these officers as she turned down their physical advances.

She said that she was being illegally confined to her house at Kalka military station.

A defence spokesman here denied the allegation saying that a major general rank officer had personally gone to Kalka to inquire into the charge.

Army sources here said that the unit officers had told their seniors that they had asked the captain to lead a supply convoy to Pathankot but she refused and levelled the allegations.
