Four leading Tamil actors back out of a music video which
features Rajnikanth

Rajnikanth’s forthcoming release Kuselan was supposed to have a glitzy music video featuring the colts of South Indian cinema Vijay, Ajith, Vikram and Surya.

But all these stars have declined to be a part of the P Vasu directed video and industry sources say that these actors weren’t happy with the offer as ‘it would have them on screen for just a few minutes’.

The promotional song was titled Cinema, Cinema and was supposed to have all these actors in it. Reportedly, Vasu had also declared this bit of news to the media but after that things went wrong.

Our sources say that Vijay and Ajith weren’t contacted at all before the news was leaked to the media and when Vasu finally got in touch with them, they refused. Insiders add that all four actors cited date problems while refusing the music video.

“It was supposed to be a dream video that would have seen Rajnikanth along with the next generation of South Indian cinema stars dancing to a peppy number. Vasu was looking forward to have all of them in it but things did not happen as planned,” says a source.

The source adds, “There were date problems with someone and some were not happy that they were not even contacted when Vasu had them in mind to feature in his song sequence. So, the only answer Vasu got from their side was a ‘no’.”

Ajith’s spokesperson says, “We suddenly read in the newspaper that Ajith and the three other actors were part of Vasu’s film and we were shocked because no one contacted Ajith with an offer for this. So, naturally Ajith is not doing the song.” We learn that Rajnikanth’s Cinema Cinema song will hail Rajnikanth as the number one icon of South Indian cinema and also thank the fans of the iconic actor for their increasing support over the years.

When contacted, Vasu said that everything was fine between him and the four young actors. “I don’t know how you get to know such things. It is just a rumour,” he says.

We asked him whether he was trying to say that he had not contacted the actors to be a part of the song and was, in fact, denying that the actors had turned him down.

“The song sequence is there but I don’t know what to say about the actors. Rajnikanth is a part of the song. That is all I can say right now,” he added defensively.
