NEW DELHI: Government on Thursday sought to play down suggestions on any threat to it over the Indo-US civil nuclear deal.
"There was no threat to the government," Minister of State in the PMO Prithviraj Chavan said on the sidelines of a cabinet briefing here.
"We have to take some foreign policy and political decisions," he said.
Chavan parried questions on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's scheduled visit to Japan to attend the G-8 summit next week.
"I cannot comment on that. This is not discussed in the Cabinet," the minister said.
