Man kills wife for not bearing a child

VADODARA: A man allegedly killed his wife in Panchmahal district after she failed to bear a child in their 15-year-long wedded life, police said on Thursday.
 
The incident took place in Kotra village on June 22, they said adding the murder came into light after a postmortem was conducted on her body on Wednesday.
 
Mavjibhai Tavadia allegedly killed his wife Maniben and later hanged her body in their residence and claimed it to be a case of suicide, police said.
 
Earlier, a case of accidental death was registered but autopsy reports revealed that Maniben died due to strangulation, they said adding a case has been registered in this connection with the police at Santrampur town in the district.
