Lovers end life

KOZHIKODE: Dejected over the opposition from her parents to her love affair, a young girl ended her life along with her lover by consuming poison here on Thursday, police said.

While Mega's parents had complained to the police that she was missing since on Wednesday morning, her body was recovered along with that of her lover's from a jeep in the outskirts of the city this evening, the sources said.

Mega was in love with Raju, a jeep driver, for quite some time but the former's parents had denied permission for their marriage, police said.

The incident came to light after locals informed the police about the abandoned jeep which was found locked from inside, they said.
