Heavy rains lash Himachal Pradesh

SHIMLA: Heavy rains lashed this city and other parts of Himachal Pradesh today, throwing life out of
gear.

The city witnessed heavy rain since morning, forcing residents and tourists to remain indoors. The Met Office said 39 mm of rain was recorded till 5:30 pm.

It said Sundernagar received 23.0 mm rain, Bhuntar 9 mm, Dharamsala 36 mm and Una 13 mm.

Met office Director Manmohan Singh told PTI that the monsoon had entered the hill state on June 13.

He said the lower and middle regions of the state will have rains for the next 4-5 days.
