NEW DELHI: It is a role that he plays daily but in reel life it is a different ball game altogether for young National Conference President Omar Abdullah.

"It was an experience in itself eventhough I don't have six-pack abs to boast of," Omar, who would be seen in soon to be released Apoorva Lakhia's new multistarrer flick 'Mission Istanbul,' said.

Playing the role of a politician being interviewed by a journalist, he said, it was a "little hard" for him to play himself in the movie.

"I am playing who I am in real life. I am being interviewed by a journalist on terrorism in the film. You can very well understand what I went through since my wife and kids were laughing all the time during my shoot in Jaipur," he said.

The former Union Minister said both his kids - Zamir (11) and Zahir (9) -- along with his wife Payal found the entire experience "very amusing".

Others cast in the film include Sunil Shetty, Vivek Oberoi and Zayed Khan. The film is based on terrorism in which Omar talks about its ill effects and its reflection on people's lives.

"The script requires me to take a jibe at the journalist saying good news is no news for them and their focus is never on development and peace," the 38-year-old Omar said.

Though Omar did enjoy his shoot in Pink City, he, however, was quick to say, "I don't intend to continue with my acting stint. This was my first and last venture into Bollywood."

"Apoorva is a good friend of mine and was also my senior in school. So when he requested me to do the role, I could not say no. But then I have a state (Jammu and Kashmir) to look after, hence no more shoots for me," he said, adding, "Moreover I am 38 and too old for Bollywood."

Apoorva's last film "Shootout at Lokhandwala" was a runaway success. However, his Abishek Bachchan-starer "Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost" could not do much at the box-office.
