NOIDA: The wife and brother of dentist Rajesh Talwar, accused of killing his daughter Arushi, on Sunday visited him at the Dasna jail here where he has been lodged since his arrest on Friday.

After visiting his brother along with his sister-in-law Nupur, Dinesh Talwar said the family believed Rajesh to be 100 per cent innocent.

"I have faith that the truth will prevail," he told reporters.

On Saturday, Nupur had come out in strong defence of her husband claiming his innocence in the murder of their daughter and domestic help.

Rajesh's lawyers have filed bail applications in a local court for his release, saying there was no evidence to link him with the crime and that he suffered from severe asthma.

Meanwhile, the Indian Dental Association (IDA), an apex body of dental surgeons, has backed Rajesh Talwar saying he was a "respectable man" and that he was being "implicated" in the case.

"We are dismayed and anguished at the way poorly investigated case is being projected to millions of people across the country implicating a senior respectable member of society without proof," the association said in a release.
