SHIMLA: In wake of the serials blasts in Jaipur, cyber cafe owners in Himachal Pradesh have been asked to keep details of internet users.
    
Director General of Police Ashwani Kumar said on Sunday that police headquarters has issued this order as part of steps to strengthen security in the hill state.
    
Owners have been asked to collect personal details of the user before allowing him to use the internet, he added.

District Superintendent of Police of Rajinder Mohan Sharma said he has written separate letters to BSNL and private operators Reliance, AIRTEL and AIRCEL, making it mandatory that internet users give personal details.

He said cafe owners have also been told to inform police about suspicious persons visiting their outlets.
    
There are over three dozen cyber cafes in and around Shimla.
    
The Shimla SP said that he has discussed with the DGP, a proposal to install close circuit cameras at crowded places in the state capital.
    
Cameras would be installed at busy places like the Mall road, Ridge maidan, Bus stand, Scandal point and Victory tunnel and security tightened, he said.
    
He hoped cameras would be installed within this year.
