MUMBAI: There is no end to Bombay Hockey Association’s (BHA) ordeal in its effort to retain the astroturf at the Mahindra stadium. Having lost a case in the lower court against the Mumbai Cricket Association, the BHA has moved High Court. “We are not going to take this lying down. We have been there from 1934 and will continue to stay for the betterment of the sport,” said BHA president Keher Singh.

Unfortunately, the money that could be utilised to nurture the sport is getting drained in the tenuous court fights that has been waging between the two bodies for a long time now. According to BHA sources, their office has spent more than Rs two lakh in the lower court before losing the case to the Mumbai Cricket Association, and is now gearing up to shell out even hefty sums to sustain the fight in the higher court.

“What will I do with the money if I don’t have the ground? We will fight till the end come what may,” Keher Singh said.
