MUMBAI: Though tense about possible arrest of MNS chief Raj Thackeray, his family members on Tuesday said they were ready to face any consequences that may arise due to the stand taken by him on the issue of north Indians.

"Since Raj is fighting for the Marathi Manus, we are ready to face any consequence, but there is tension in the house," Raj's mother-in-law Padma Wagh said.

She voiced concern about Raj's son Amit, who is going to appear for the tenth standard examination next month.

"I am worried about Amit because of Raj's likely arrest, as he has to appear for SSC exams next month," she said.

"My grandchildren are too young to understand what is going on," Padma said adding, "Sharmila, my daughter is in touch with me over phone."

Raj's father-in-law, Mohan Wagh, who is a well known Marathi drama director, spoke to Raj about the current political situation and conveyed his support to him on Monday.

"If Raj is doing something good, why should one be afraid. He's a nice boy and people have understood what he is saying. Now people will realise who is the real leader of the Marathi Manus," Mohan said.

"Raj is not against the poor 'Uttar Bhartiya'. He is opposing their show of strength," added Mohan.
