NEW DELHI: US-based aircraft manufacturer Boeing said on Tuesday it has entered into a four year agreement with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), IT major Wipro and HCL Technologies to develop wireless and other network technologies for aerospace related applications.

The agreement can be extended based on mutual interests, Boeing said in a statement, but did not mention the financial terms of the pact.

As per the agreement, Boeing, IISc, Wipro and HCL would form the country's first public-private aerospace research consortium -- Aerospace Network Research Consortium (ANRC).

"It is a part of Boeing's strategy to leverage top research capabilities anywhere in the world and we look forward to working with our Indian partners to benefit from their capabilities and talent in this area," Boeing India Engineering and Technology Vice-President Naveed Hussain said.
