Hazare on hunger strike from Jan 15

AHMEDNAGAR: Noted social activist Anna Hazare on Saturday reiterated his demand to take action against those involved in the Rs 800-cr cooperative banks and credit socities scam in the state.
    
I will go on hunger strike from January 15 at Ralegansiddhi village, 40 kms from here, if those involved in the scam are not brought to the books, Hazare said.
    
Talking to PTI here on Saturday Anna said unlesss the culprits in the scam are not sent behind the bars, the co-operative credit societies, handling thousands of crores collected from the common man, can not be cleaned of corruption.
    
Depositors' money in several banks and credit societies was distributed among bank staff as loan.
    
After repeated complaints, Rs 77 crore have been recovered so far and Rs 800 crore were yet to be recovered from these banks.
