National-level boxer, 2 others get life term for murder

A city court has sentenced three persons, including a national-level boxer and a suspended Delhi Police constable, to rigorous imprisonment for life for murdering an MNC official.

NEW DELHI: A city court has sentenced three persons, including a national-level boxer and a suspended Delhi Police constable, to rigorous imprisonment for life for murdering an MNC official whom they had abducted for a ransom of Rs 10 lakh.
    
Boxer Vikram Yadav, suspended constable Neeraj Kumar Chaudhary, and Rajender Singh were sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for life by Additional Sessions Jugde Ravinder Kaur on Thursday.
    
The trio were accused of abducting Ratan Roy, a General Manager with Schneider Electric India Ltd, for ransom.
    
The victim was, however, thrown out from moving car which led to his death in hospital on November 29, 2001 due to head injuries.
