KOLKATA: The first CPI(M)-All-India Forward Block bipartite meeting convened to settle mutual differences on various political, economic and industrialisation issues in West Bengal ended here on Thursday without any concrete solution.

The CPI(M) and the FB have decided to submit their respective points of objections to each other. According to FB general secretary Ashoke Ghosh, both the parties would study the points of objections and then meet for a second meeting on January 18.

When asked whether such differences are signs of disintegration of the Left Front in West Bengal, Ghosh said: “Left Front was there, it is there and it will be there.”

The CPI(M) was represented by the party’s state secretary in West Bengal and Left Front chairman Biman Bose. Left Front sources said since both the parties stuck to their views no solution could be reached.

The sources said Ghosh objected to the way all important government decisions were unilaterally taken by the CPI(M) without consulting the Left Front components. Ghosh also criticised the CPI(M)’s industrialisation policy that created tension in Nandigram and Singur.
