The Uttar Pradesh police released the sketch of another suspect who had allegedly kept a bicycle loaded with explosives in the civil court compound here.
LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh police said Saturday that they had identified the shops from which bicycles were bought for placing the six bombs in three towns that went off Friday. The police also released computer sketches of four suspects believed to be behind the terror attacks.
The shops were identified in Varanasi, Faizabad and Lucknow -- the three towns where blasts in the court premises left 13 people dead and 59 injured.
"We are trying to get information about the persons who purchased these bicycles. Some of the shop owners have been able to provide vital clues that may prove very useful in tracking down the culprits," Inspector General of Police Arvind Jain said.
Six cycles were used in the blasts. While the ones in Varanasi and Faizabad were brand new, one of those used in the Lucknow was old. Another bomb placed on a new cycle in Lucknow failed to explode.
Meanwhile, police have released computer sketches of the suspects involved in the Lucknow and Faizabad blasts, while police in Varanasi plan to do the same soon.
"The sketches of the suspects were drawn on the basis of information gathered from the cycle shop owners and other eyewitnesses," Jain said.
On Friday, police released the sketch of a bespectacled clean-shaven man in his early 30s, based on eyewitness accounts. Witnesses said they had seen a person of that description parking the cycle in the Lucknow court premises.
Another sketch of a suspect believed to be behind the Faizabad bombing was released Saturday morning.
"The sketch is of a person believed to have parked a bicycle with the bomb, which eventually exploded," a senior police official said here.
