US Treasury Secretary to visit India

WASHINGTON: The US Treasury Secretary Henry M Paulson Jr will be visiting India this week where he would meet senior government officials including Finance Minister P Chidambaram and business leaders.

Starting off on October 28 from Kolkata, Paulson will meet with West Bengal Chief Minister Bhattacharya and local business leaders.

The Treasury Secretary will then travel to Mumbai where he will address the US-India CEO Forum Infrastructure Conference and meet Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Y V Reddy and M Damodaran, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

During his visit, Paulson would also meet Finance Minister P Chidambaram and would participate in a discussion on India's rise as an important player on the global economic stage at the Fortune Global Forum in New Delhi.
