HYDERABAD: As Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi's younger daughter, who married against his wishes, moved the Delhi High Court seeking police protection, her family on Monday made it clear that the couple faced no threat whatsoever from them.

"There is absolutely no threat to their lives from us. We have neither any idea about their whereabouts nor are we searching for them," Chiranjeevi's younger brother and popular actor Pavan Kalyan said.

On the couple, Srija and Sirish Baradwaj, apprehending a threat to their lives because Chiranjeevi was an influential person, Kalyan said, "We are not in the company of goondas, but have the love and affection of fans. We are not after somebody's lives."

He advised the couple not to waste time of the 'police as law enforcing agencies have more important things to do'.

He wished happiness for Srija 'wherever she is'.

Accompanied by his supporters and fans, Kalyan went to the Jubilee Hills police station and surrendered his revolver.

"I am surrendering the weapon, so that there is no scope for misunderstanding in any quarter. We wish Srija a happy life wherever she is," the actor said.
