Indian Oil to sponsor India-Pak ODI series

MUMBAI: The forthcoming five-match one-day cricket series between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is to be fought for the Indian Oil Cup.
    
The series would be the third major cricket title sponsorship by the public sector undertaking after the Asia Cup and tri-nation series hosted by Sri Lanka in 2004 and 2005 respectively, company said on Saturday.
    
The series commences at Guwahati on November 5 followed by matches at Mohali (8th), Kanpur (11th), Gwalior (15th) and Jaipur (18th).
    
Indian Oil was also the official sponsor (world wide) of the International Cricket Council events, including the Champions Trophy held in India last year and the March-April World Cup in the West Indies, the release added.
