Husband hacks deaf and dumb wife and daughter to death

KRISHNAGIRI: A 22-year-old deaf and dumb woman and her three-year-old daughter have been hacked to death allegedly by her husband at Kurumpatty village in this district.
     
The bodies of Anuradha and her daughter Deepa, with their throats cut open, were found last evening in a bushy ditch near the village following which her husband Chinnasamy(40) was arrested, police said.
    
Chinnasamy had married Anuradha following pressure from the village elders four years back after he raped her, they said.
    
The elders had pronounced that Chinnasamy, already married and having two sons, should marry and give her one acre of land.
    
There were frequent quarrels between the couple and recently Anuradha left his house and was staying with her father, police said quoting village sources.
    
On October 12, Anuradha and Deepa went to rear cattle in their land and did not return. A search by villagers ended when they found the bodies in the ditch last evening, police added.
