KOLKATA: The Calcutta High Court on Thursday admitted an appeal by the Board of Control for Cricket in India against a stay by a single bench of the court on former BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya's expulsion from the board.

A division bench comprising Justice Pinaki Ghosh and Justice S P Mitra is likely to hear the appeal against Justice Indira Banerjee's July 20 order on a later date.

Justice Banerjee had stayed the BCCI disciplinary committee's decision to expel Dalmiya for alleged financial misappropriation.

The court had also allowed Dalmiya to contest any election of BCCI and its affiliate bodies.

Dalmiya had, however, chosen not to contest the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) polls despite the July 20 order.
