Dalit woman beaten to death

VARANASI: A dalit woman was today allegedly beaten to death by four women in a locality in the city over a petty dispute, police said.

Hirawati, 60, was allegedly beaten to death in Chitaipur locality under Lanka police circle area following an argument with the others her water spilled out of her bucket when she was pushed by one of them, police said.

Hirawati lost her consciousness due to the beating and died on the spot, they said.

All four, who were involved in the assault on the old woman, were arrested, police said.
