MUMBAI: John Dyson's interest to coach the Indian team has not diminished. He first applied for the post a few weeks ago. After weeks of searching for a full-time replacement for Greg Chappell, the BCCI could not find a suitable candidate and now the Indian cricket board has advertised for the post.

"Yes I have seen the advertisement on the internet and am seriously considering to re-apply for it," he said from Australia. "No, I have not lost interest. A true coach will never lose interest. Now, the system has been placed through proper process and hopefully, who knows, I may be invited for a presentation," he further added.

John Dyson, 54, a correct and hard-working former opener, had a couple of good seasons for Australia is ready to take on Ponting & Co.

 "I like the Australian team but if get an opportunity to coach Team India, would work towards beating Australia," he said. A new coach for the Indian team is expected to be appointed before next month's visit by World Cup champions Australia for a seven-match bilateral one-day series.

Dyson has been following Team India's performance in England. "Though it is well-past mid-night here, I don't miss to watch them playing. After the first Test against England, Rahul Dravid boys made remarkable return in the second and third Tests," he added.
