NEW DELHI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday unveiled the trophy for next month's Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa, as well as the new sponsors, most of them from India.

Announcing the sponsors at a press conference here, ICC chief executive Malcolm Speed said the new global partners are the Indian telecommunications giant Reliance Communications, leading real estate company Emaar MGF, the world's leading mobile handset manufacturer Nokia and soft-drink giant Pepsi.

Speed also said that Yahoo! India has joined as the official online partner of the World Championship to be held Sep 11-24.

"They represent a great cross-section of organisations with some continuing lengthy associations with the game of cricket while others are new to the sport or ICC events," he said.

Speed, along with ace Indian batsman Virender Sehwag and the sponsors' representatives, unveiled the trophy that will be presented to the winners of 12-team tournament in Johannesburg.

Designed by Minale Bryce Design Strategy of Queensland, Australia, the trophy is manufactured by Amit Pabuwal in India.

The 57.15 cm tall trophy is made of silver and rhodium and weighs 12 kg.
