Probe ordered into Maya's profile on Orkut

LUCKNOW: Google-owned social networking site, Orkut, landed itself again in trouble with posting of deregoratory and malicious profile of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government has ordered probe into the entire issue and stated that stern action would be taken against the culprits.

State Home Secretary Javeed Ahmed told mediapersons here that though the government has no knowledge about the issue, but still investigation would be done to know the facts.

"There are enough legal provisions against cyber crimes and the state police will do what every IS required to punish the guilty ones", he added.

The mischief mongers have acutally started several profiles of the Chief Minister including several objectionable fictitious social and personal facts attributed to Mayawati.

There is a profile on the name of Mulayam-Mayawati, while another profile describes objectionable comments on her personnel life. Another profile said 'I hate Mayawati'.

Earlier the senior police  and Home Department officials expressed their ignorance about the site and they even refused to comment whether the state government will order a probe into the controversy and punish the guilty tarnishing the image of the Chief Minister.

Orkut, community network site landed in controversy in the ‘Shivaji Community’ fiasco and later in a malicious profile of a Delhi schoolgirl getting uploaded on the site.
