Woman dies of starvation, sisters critical

NEW DELHI: In a bizarre incident, a 30-year-old woman was found dead in her Kalkaji residence in the Capital on Saturday.

Neeru's sisters, Dolly (43) and Maanu (40), both suffering from starvation, are battling for their lives in a South Delhi nursing home.

The incident came to light, when a neighbour of the Bali family called the police and complained about a stench emanating from the neighbourhood. After police broke into the house, they found Neeru's body on a bed, swollen and decomposed.

Astonishingly, both Dolly and Maanu (who were in a semi-conscious state) failed to state the cause of their sister's death.

Initially, when the neighbours had knocked on their door, Dolly had told them that Neeru was sleeping and that they were all fine.

Dolly reportedly told police that they had been unemployed for the past couple of months.
