BANGALORE: A meeting of the JD(S)-BJP coordination committee in Karnataka, scheduled to take place on Saturday, has been postponed indefinitely, sources said.

The meeting has been put off as a majority of the members of the coordination committee were away from the city, Chief Minister's Secretariat sources told here.

The emergent meeting called on Friday in the wake of protest staged by BJP ministers, led by Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, against the attitude of the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy was postponed.

The coalition partners decided to hold the meeting to iron out certain issues over which the BJP has been protesting, including the Chief Minister's unilateral appointment of a person as member of the State Public Service Commission, 'as it was under the BJP's quota'.

Power transfer was one of the contentious issue slated to come up for discussion at the meeting as the JD(S) leadership, including Kumaraswamy, have been sending mixed signals to BJP.

As per the power sharing pact, JD(S) should allow the BJP to lead the coalition from October three.
