PM hosts farewell dinner for Kalam

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday night hosted a dinner in honour of the outgoing President A P J Abdul Kalam, who demits office on Wednesday.

A large number of political leaders, including UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, Leader of Opposition L K Advani, former Prime Minister I K Gujral and several Union Ministers, attended the dinner.

Earlier, Members of Parliament bade farewell to Kalam at a reception hosted by the Speaker in the Parliament House. During his tenure, Kalam addressed Parliament on ten occasions.
