At least 12 people died and 14 others injured when a tourist bus carrying 27 people plunged into Yarlung Zangbo River (Bhramaputra River in India) about 90 kilometres west of the regional capital Lhasa in Tibetan autonomous region on Friday.
The bodies of the 12 victims, ten women and two men, including the driver, have been retrieved. Rescuers are still searching for a missing passenger. The identities of the people on the bus are still unknown, Xinhua news agency said.
The 35-seat bus, belonging to a local tourist company, was en route to the western city of Xigaze from Lhasa.
In another mishap in northeast China on Friday, three people died and two injured after their vehicle smashed into the median strip on a freeway linking Shenyang, capital city of Liaoning Province, to the city of Dandong.
