All work, no celebration for Patil on wedding anniversary

CHANDIGARH: UPA-Left Presidential nominee Pratibha Patil's 42nd marriage anniversary on Saturday coincided with her hectic tour of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir to garner support for her candidature.

After Patil addressed Punjab Congress legislators here as part of her campaign, she was wished by the MLAs when they learnt that today was her wedding anniversary.

Congress General Secretary Janardhan Dwivedi was asked by a mediaperson whether it was her birth anniversary or marriage anniversary.

"She is now happily married for 42 years," Dwivedi said after which the MLAs greeted Patil.
