Wife commits suicide, alleging husband homosexual

KOLKATA: A woman hanged herself alleging in her suicide note that her husband was a homosexual and this forced her to commit suicide.

Preeti Verma, a resident of Green Valley apartment at Koikhali in North 24 Parganas in West Bengal, who hanged herself in her bedroom on Sunday, married Sanjoy Verma two years ago, the police said.

Preeti in the suicide note claimed that her husband was physically involved with a distant relative named Munna who stayed in the same flat.

She also alleged that her husband and in-laws tortured her from the day they were married.
   
Sanjoy, however, told the police that Preeti had a miscarriage three months ago and was suffering from depression since then.

"She has committed suicide and a suicide note has been recovered. We don't know whether the allegations made by her are true or not. We have started a case," said an investigating officer.
