Delhi government is in the process of appointing a consultant from New York for its Traffic Coordination Group constituted recently at the behest of Lieutenant Governor Tejendra Khanna.

NEW DELHI: If everything goes as planned, Delhi traffic will soon be managed on the lines of traffic system in New York.
Delhi government is in the process of appointing a consultant from New York for its Traffic Coordination Group constituted recently at the behest of Lieutenant Governor Tejendra Khanna.
"A TCG has been constituted under the Chairmanship of State principal secretary of Home for which services of a consultant, who established the traffic management system in New York, are being requisitioned," Khanna said at a meeting in the Civil-Military Liaison Conference 2007 here.
According to a Delhi Government statement, Khanna also said the military officers would be involved in finalizing structure of the proposed TCG.
The government has planned to revamp the traffic system in the lines of New York city, sources said.
